Loblaw Digital Internship
Role
Graphic Design Intern
Time Period
Sep 2022 - Dec 2022
During the fall of 2022, I had the opportunity to intern at Loblaw Digital. My responsibilities mainly involved in the design and production of email, web, and social media assets for the Shoppers Drug Mart and PC Express teams. Below are some of the work that I had done.

Shoppers Drug Mart Valentine’s Day Assets
I was involved from concept to execution for Shoppers Drug Mart’s 2023 Valentine’s Day promotional emails. Click here to learn more and see my process behind this project!

Shoppers Drug Mart Deluxe Sample Banners
Every week, the Shoppers Drug Mart e-commerce landing page displays these banners where consumers can receive a sample of the featured product when they spend a certain amount online. Creating these banners has provided me with an opportunity to research the diverse creative styles of each brand and develop designs that align with their branding.

PC Express marketing campaigns emails
Here are several emails that I created for some of PC Express’ marketing campaigns. Working with these emails has allowed me to gain an understanding of the team’s email templates, some limitations, and explore alternate designs despite these constraints.

PC Express Instagram Posts
Here are some deliverables created for PC Express’ Instagram, including marketing campaign promotions. I had a fun time creating these motion graphics and experimenting with the speed graph in After Effects.

Learnings
I had an awesome time working with the supportive team at LD, and I’ve definitely learned a lot. Here are a few learnings:
1. Confidence in presentation - Under the supportive environment from the team, I definitely felt more confident presenting my work. I no longer need to rely on a prepared script to convey my ideas effectively.
2. Collaborating with a variety of team members - Effective communication was crucial to ensure everyone was on the same page. Although I initially encountered a lot of acronyms and terminologies that were unfamiliar to me, I gradually became familiar with them overtime. Furthermore, I learned to adhere to the file naming conventions and file organization practices for seamless design handoffs.
3. Accessibility - In addition to understanding colour contrast, I also gained knowledge about accessibility considerations when working with other media types such as animations (ex. GIFs).
